We answer your questions
CtrlZ answers all your burning questions
Pulsed light or laser for hair removal?
Pulsed light is polychromatic and therefore less specific to hair melanin, so the risk of burns is increased by residual energy. Laser hair removal remains the benchmark technique.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Patients describe a “rubber band” sensation in the treated area.
An anaesthetic cream may be prescribed if necessary.
How does laser hair removal work?
The photons contained in the laser will be captured by the hair’s melanin, increasing the heat in the hair bulb and destroying it and the cells that give rise to new hairs.
Laser hair removal: Which laser?
The two main hair removal lasers are the Alexandrite 755nm for light phototypes 1 to 3 and the Nd-Yag 1064 nm laser for dark phototypes 4 to 6 or tanned patients.
What is laser hair removal?
This is the removal of hair using a class IV medical laser.
This type of hair removal must be performed by a laser-trained physician, or delegated to a nurse under the supervision of a trained physician.
Post-act care
After laser hair removal, apply the soothing cream supplied, 2 to 3 times a day for 24 to 72 hours.
How long between sessions?
On average, it takes between 4 and 8 weeks, depending on the area treated.
Can I come with a tan?
Wait until the skin has been de-tanned before proceeding with laser hair removal.
In fact, it is strongly recommended that you carry out tanning test shots before resuming treatment of an area that has been exposed to the sun.
What if I'm pregnant?
Laser hair removal is not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women.
Is laser hair removal dangerous?
When used correctly, laser hair removal is not dangerous, never carcinogenic and does not render the skin sterile.
I'd like to have my face lasered but I'm afraid of shaving.
At CtrlZ, we’ll never ask you to shave your face before laser hair removal.
How much does it cost?
During the information consultation, the CtrlZ team will provide you with a personalized price estimate for the area(s) you wish to treat.
How does my skin look after laser treatment?
For 1 to 2 hours, the skin may show redness and small oedemas around each burned hair.
Can I go back to work after laser hair removal?
You can go back to work after your laser tattoo removal session.
